Research
Finn's main interest is in online learning, with a special emphasis on reinforcement learning. Accelerators, such as LCLS, are known to drift during operation, and Finn's work focuses on getting ML algorithms to keep up with the machine's state. He is also interested in understanding why algorithms work when they do and fail when they don’t.
